OUR POETS

peterNettleton2.jpg

Pete (Stinger) Nettleton is a bush balladeer from way back. He started out playing in folk groups in the 70s and 80s but had to change his style when parenthood came along in the 90s. Around that time, Stinger joined a band of bush poets who became the founder members of WABPYA and has been performing bush poetry at musters, festivals, RSLs , Seniors’ functions and retirement villages ever since. He has recently won awards for both his original works and his unique rendition of traditional poems.
In recent times, Stinger has returned to his musical roots, but always strives to include plenty of the spoken word in between songs and tunes. He is also active in writing, directing and performing in plays and short films on an Australian historical theme.
Stinger is currently working on publishing a mixed collection of his original and favourite bush ballads in both written and audio form.

He welcomes contact at stinger@iinet.net.au or on 0407770053.
